One of the best Jenga variations is the Classic 5 Single Tower.
To build this magnificent monstrosity, you simply flip all your Jenga pieces onto their skinny edge and create groups of five.
Stack these groups of five one on top of the other, just as you would in standard Jenga until you’re out of pieces.
(Your last row will have only four blocks.)
Now begin pulling pieces from anywhere below a completed row, and adding them to the top, following the original pattern.
(I mostly pulled from the bottom at first, but you don’t have to do that.)
I love this style of tower because it’s easy to pull groups of pieces out together, all at once, with one hand. The pieces can even come from multiple rows.
This is allowed, but you won’t get any congratulations from your friends if you knock the tower over while showing off. And keep in mind that you’ll need to place them on top with one hand, which is often more difficult than pulling them.
As the tower grows, it becomes increasingly unstable, especially if you end up with a single block in any of your rows.
It’s a simple tower to build and play, but it’s very challenging at the end. It took me several tries to beat it. Here’s what victory looked like:
