This is one of the coolest looking Jenga variations, as you can see by the title picture. Even Fred can’t help but stare at it in awe.
To set up Sidewinder Jenga, take the classic Jenga 3-block sets and offset each row slightly, by about ¼ inch.
Go in one direction for four or five rows, and then go back in the other direction six or seven rows. Then bring it back in the original direction until you run out of pieces.
Here’s another view:
And another just because looks so cool:
Play, as always, by pulling pieces and following the pattern on top, only this time the pattern is a sidewinder. You’ll probably need to reverse direction again after a row or two.
Use your best judgment about the tower’s stability to decide when to turn back. You gotta keep that center of gravity in, well, the center.
For me, the base got pulled down to just one block, but it wasn’t a center block, which created this awesome standing-one-foot appearance.
Here’s a close-up:
I didn’t beat it, but it was still extremely satisfying to build such a cool-looking tower. Give it a try and send me pics!
